The Big Move

Nick arrived from Cali last Wednesday night to help with the big move. He and his buddies were a godsend when it came to moving all of our stuff. Todd and I can't believe we had all that at 510 4th street. Where did we fit it all? We are exhausted! I haven't been this tired since dryland training. Just a few more things to pick up, a little cleaning, and it's bye bye 4th street (sigh).

Despite working like crazy over the holiday weekend, we managed to have some fun. The boys took time out to shoot trap on our new land while Sarah drove the 4-wheeler. A few of our friends stopped by to share a drink and some laughs, and the kids enjoyed a bonfire with friends at days end.

Saturday, Rocky brought mom up on to see the new place. It was great to have them here. They both LOVE it. I knew mom would. It reminded her of her home where she and dad raised the family. Plus, mom's dream home has always been a saltbox with horses. This comes close. She and big sis are happy for us all!

A new home!

I can't belive it!! After 7 months, 2 days, and 6 hours we are officially new home owners! To have found a "new" colonial in the Luck, WI area and purchase it has been a true miracle. It is so similar to where I grew up, I feel like I am finally home again. Todd and I have spent every waking moment cleaning, re-energizing hardwood floors, and moving stuff in. Amidst our new found workload, we've taken time to enjoy turkeys strutting in the front yard, grouse drumming in the back yard, and acclimate two little dogs who think they've died and gone to chimpmunk heaven! What a whirlwind of excitement for us all. This week Nick comes home from Cali to help move the "big" stuff. Can't wait to see his smiling face, and really can't wait to catch some z's!

A day away...

We are now one day away from closing on the Bone Lake Township home. I feel stressed, not only because we want everything to go okay but because the list of things to accomplish is mounting! I suppose that is the fun part, though...labors of love! Think I'll go golfing tonight and whack a few balls around to try and relax. Then again, not sure I can afford golf right now. :)

Almost there

We are 2 days away from signing on the new home. I am a nervous wreck (poor Todd) and praying that all goes well. We are so excited to move into our new home and have 20 acres to play on. Surely a dream come true!
